Kendrick Lamar is once again proving why he’s one of the greatest artists of his generation. As we reach the halfway mark of 2025, Kendrick Lamar Holds the Biggest Song of 2025 So Far, thanks to his chart-smashing collaboration with SZA titled “Luther.”

The Compton native’s hit single has already ruled the Billboard Hot 100 for a staggering 13 consecutive weeks. According to Luminate, Luther has sold an impressive 3.9 million copies this year alone, cementing its status as the year’s biggest song so far.

Kendrick’s Chart Takeover

Lamar didn’t stop with just one hit. His other songs, Not Like Us and TV Off, have also taken over the charts, ranking third and fourth on the list. What’s even more impressive is that Not Like Us debuted last summer, yet it’s still holding strong well into 2025.

Rounding out the current top five songs are Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga’s powerful duet “Die With a Smile” and Morgan Wallen’s emotional track “I’m the Problem.”

Album Sales Are Breaking Records Too

The collaboration between Kendrick Lamar and SZA isn’t limited to singles. Both artists are dominating the album charts as well. Currently on a joint world tour, they’ve also landed the second and third best-selling albums of 2025.

SZA’s SOS (Deluxe), released at the end of last year, has moved over 1.711 million units so far this year. Close behind is Lamar’s GNX, which has already surpassed 1.7 million units. While both albums are doing incredibly well, they still trail Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem, which leads the pack with over 2.5 million equivalent units sold in 2025.

Emmy Glory for Kendrick’s Super Bowl Show

As if topping music charts wasn’t enough, Kendrick Lamar has more reason to celebrate. He’s just been nominated for four Emmy Awards for his groundbreaking Super Bowl halftime show performance earlier this year.

The powerful show, featuring appearances by Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard, has earned nods for:

  • Outstanding Variety Special (Live)

  • Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special

  • Outstanding Music Direction

  • Outstanding Choreography (Variety/Reality)

This isn’t Lamar’s first time being recognized by the Emmys. He previously took home a trophy for his role in the 2022 halftime show, which included performances alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Mary J. Blige.

Samuel L. Jackson Calls It “Revolutionary”

Iconic actor Samuel L. Jackson, who played a symbolic version of Uncle Sam during Lamar’s performance, recently opened up about the experience on Paloma Faith’s Mad Sad Bad podcast.

“I didn’t know what they were doing,” Jackson admitted. “It was kinda trippy because it wasn’t until dress rehearsal that I looked up at the stage and said, ‘Oh shit, that’s a flag. Ah, fuck, we’re being revolutionaries.’ I wasn’t even listening or paying attention before.”

His presence during the performance helped narrate Kendrick’s bold vision, blending powerful imagery with music in a way that resonated with millions.

With unmatched dominance on the charts, record-breaking sales, and critical acclaim on the award circuit, Kendrick Lamar Holds the Biggest Song of 2025 So Far and shows no signs of slowing down. From his collaborations with SZA to his revolutionary Super Bowl performance, Kendrick continues to redefine what it means to be an artist in the modern era.
