A man accusing Diddy of rape in one of many lawsuits has shared his story in a new interview with CNN, though he remained anonymous while doing so.
The John Doe is being represented by Tony Buzbee, the same lawyer who is representing the woman claiming JAY-Z and the Bad Boy mogul raped a 13-year-old girl back in 2000. Buzbee has filed many lawsuits against Diddy thus far, even using an 800 number for accusers to call to report their allegations.
Talking to CNN, Doe detailed the alleged incident he says went down in 2007 while he was working security at one of Diddy’s parties the Hamptons.
“The first drink started to have some effect on me, and I just thought, ‘Wow, these are really strong drinks,’” he told the outlet. “It wasn’t until the second drink, and it was already too late, that I realized there was something wrong with the drinks.”
He claims Diddy then forced him into an SUV and took advantage of him.
“I was screaming, telling him to stop. It was incredibly painful, and he was acting like it was nothing, and he seemed to be disconnected from it.”
It’s to be noted, however, that John Doe’s initial filing in October said the incident happened in 2006 and that he never married due to the trauma of the rape. But the suit was amended this week, where he now says it happened in 2007 – and that he “was married at the time and was too ashamed to tell his wife after suffering through the assault.”
To this, Diddy’s legal team told TMZ: “After Buzbee was exposed this week for pressuring clients to bring bogus cases against Mr. Combs, and after public records showed that – contrary to his allegations – there was no white party in the Hamptons in 2006, Buzbee amended this complaint to walk back the allegations and now claim a different day and wholly different year.”
His lawyers are referring to a declaration filed by JAY-Z’s lawyer on Tuesday (December 10), where he claimed a woman reached out to his firm this week to share her negative experience working with Tony Buzbee and alleging he coached her to lie.
The woman stated she contacted Buzbee after seeing his call for potential victims of Diddy’s sex crimes – but clarified that her allegations were unrelated to the embattled mogul. Despite that, she said she was still asked, “At what point did you meet Diddy?”
She also claims his firm pressured her to file a lawsuit anonymously, while also discouraging her from filing a criminal complaint.
“[This woman] felt directed and coached by Mr. Buzbee’s firm to say that someone held her down and put drugs in her mouth when that was not her experience,” the docs read.
She says she was soon dropped as a client after she refused to change her story.
Buzbee responded to the allegations, telling TMZ, “This is so ridiculous. If someone calls our intake and has a viable case that we believe has merit and we can pursue we will pursue it. We are currently pursuing hundreds of cases against individuals other than P. Diddy. What we won’t do is pursue a case that we don’t believe has merit.”
He continued: “I can’t speak to what she told the intake folks to even tell you what this woman claimed if and when she called. [But] we certainly don’t need to ‘pressure’ anyone to pursue a case.”
