“There are no surprises here. Fun fact: I saw The Boss perform live at Meadowlands for my very first concert! On social media, Gottheimer posted an image along with a list of his favorite five songs of the year, which included Springsteen’s “Thunder Road,” “Because the Night,” “Glory Days,” “Badlands,” and “The Rising.”
The New Jersey Monitor, however, quickly voiced their opinion and pointed out some differences between Gottheimer’s findings and other Wrapped rundowns. In particular, the font selection and spacing were identified as problematic elements, which ultimately proved sufficient to make it a fake.
When asked to reply, Gottheimer issued a statement that read, “If I did not share my account with my 12 and 15-year-old sons, this would be my Spotify Wrapped.” “Do not get me wrong, I still enjoy listening to Taylor Swift, but for me it is Springsteen all day!”
Gottheimer used social media once more to quell the low-level commotion after the backlash. He wrote, “To paraphrase the Boss: I was here for fun, sweetheart, not for business.” “So just unwind. This holiday tweet was entertaining. Ask my dog, Rosalita, if you want to doubt my Springsteen credentials.
He went on to say, “Let us return to what people care about—lower taxes, fewer costs.”
Later, Gottheimer revealed his actual top five musicians and songs, stating that Springsteen was, in fact, his favorite, closely followed by Taylor Swift, Travis Scott, Drake, and Billy Joel.
Joel’s 2024 pop comeback, “Turn the Lights Back On,” took the top place on the song chart, while Springsteen’s 1975 single, “She is the One,” came in at number three. However, Gottheimer has not yet addressed his fellow New Jerseyans on his decision to give the top spot to a singer from New York.
