Will Wiesenfeld has revealed his first official Baths studio album since Romaplasm in 2017. Gut, the new album, will be available on Basement’s Basement on February 21. “Sea of Men,” the lead single from the 11-track album, features a music video that Wiesenfeld directed and edited. Watch it (via Paper) below.
According to a press statement, Wiesenfeld started work on Gut prior to the pandemic and completed it in April 2022. In a statement, the singer said, “Gut is basically me attempting to make my sentiments make sense by not initially psychoanalyzing them, instead just having feelings said and put on the table.”
Wiesenfeld has released various soundtrack albums for Netflix’s Bee and PuppyCat, the 2020 Baths compilation Pop Music / False B-Sides II, and a number more ethereal albums, including this year’s The Anchorite, since Romaplasm.
